Prescribed BPC-157

The prescription dossier: gastric research, human reports and FDA documents.

About Prescribed BPC-157

The name raises a clinical expectation. That expectation is why the evidence and the regulatory record deserve this much scrutiny.

Why this dossier exists

Prescribed BPC-157 records my scrutiny of the published research, not medical advice. I'm no doctor. Nothing here can produce a prescription: the site offers neither prescribing nor sales, and arranges no shipments or bookings. The name belongs to this collection of pages, and it gives me a question to pursue: how much of the peptide's clinical reputation has actually been measured?

The gastric origin is an appealing beginning. A synthetic fragment based on a stomach-fluid protein has led to studies of ulcers, tendons and vascular repair. The rat ulcer paper's route comparison disturbed my first assumption that the oral route would have the strongest case. Muscle delivery did better in that experiment. That result is a good reason to resist a story simply because its beginning sounds plausible.

What deserves more work

The rat Achilles-tendon results impress me because several kinds of measurement agree: biomechanics, movement and tissue structure. The VEGFR2 interruption experiment in animal and cell models adds a mechanistic question that can be tested. Both make further investigation worthwhile in my judgement.

I have much less patience for a catalogue of established human benefits built out of animal papers. The 2025 review describes a clinical record of three small reports and limited independent replication of the foundational work. A clearly specified outcome tested by an unrelated laboratory would advance the animal record; a controlled human trial would answer a different question again.

The legal dossier belongs here for a similar reason. FDA approval, an individual prescribing decision and a pharmacy's ingredient obligations cannot be compressed into a single reassuring status word. I question the authority attached to that word, and the evidence a reader might reasonably assume comes with it.

Corrections

A wrong species, route or unit can change the implication of a whole paragraph. The contact page accepts source questions and corrections. A page address, the sentence in question and the relevant publication details make a specific discrepancy possible to check.
